I have been SO busy this year so far, I haven't had much time to reflect on 2018. I'm pretty much running around after the puppy (who's already enormous) and trying to keep all my clients up to date while he's asleep. A challenge, to say the least, especially when the latter quarter of last year saw several new clients coming on board - and the consequent upswing in workload. I'm so delighted that I'm starting to get more enquiries coming through but it is going to necessitate some deep thinking over what happens next. I'm determined not to sacrifice quality of service for a higher income, so I need to be really careful about how much I take on!
As my first full calendar year of running Bulldog Accounting, 2018 was always going to be a big one for me, but it came interwoven with a great deal of sadness as we unexpectedly lost my wonderful cousin in June. I also became an aunt for the first time with the arrival of my brother's baby boy in May. And, of course, we've got our own new canine addition at Bulldog HQ so everyone is adjusting to a more chaotic lifestyle!
I'm just back from a couple of days in Brighton staying with uni friends (I'm a uni of Sussex graduate, having studied English & philosophy: not the most obvious choice for an accountant, but much fun!) Have been catching up on some bits and bobs today but still feeling like I've got a lot to do. Busy is great though, and I'm loving the work. If anyone needs me I'll be frantically replying to emails, doing tax returns and trying to make sure the house isn't destroyed by the whirling dervish that is 4 month old, 16kg Rocky!
