In the last few weeks we have travelled 4,500 miles through France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, then right the way down through Italy to Sicily (and back). Our geography has significantly improved, our car has a lot more miles on the clock and we are finding it odd driving on the left hand side of the road but we're back!
We have had an amazing time though things did not go at all to plan and there was a lot of frantic last minute rearranging going on (thank goodness that roaming charges no longer apply). I suspect there will be some excellent anecdotes coming out of our experiences, not least the day we drove 750 miles to escape from a dank, ill-equipped villa on a farm in Sicily where we inadvertently discovered a collection of Nazi uniforms and hand grenades. That was an interesting one.
Anyway, the things we thought would be tricky were decisively not: the Pet Passport scheme is super and it was a breeze getting little miss bulldog through customs at the channel tunnel. She was clearly a bit miffed at having to spend quite so much time in the car but only widdled on a couple of things she shouldn't have so overall a win.
Some pictures attached here (there are many more) show off, and a promise that henceforth we will be getting back to business. Looking forward to catching up with our clients and meeting some new ones in the next few weeks.
